Plarning Mats for the Homeless
The Presbyterian Women are making mats made of plastic bags. . The mats are light weight, water proof and actually have a cushion feel to them.
They are made from plastic bags which we cut into strips and loop together to be crocheted into a mat.  It takes 500 to 700 bags to make one sleeping mat 36X72 inches.
The PW women are working diligently every Wednesday afternoon at 1 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  Some are folding bags, some are cutting bags and others are actually making balls of "plarn"( plastic yarn) to be crocheted into mats.
They are in need of plastic bags which can be brought to the church office.
